Tinnitus

What is Tinnitus :

Tinnitus (from the Latin tinnitus or "ringing") is a condition characterized by ringing, swishing, or other noises that appear to be originating in the ear or head. Not normally a dangerous or serious problem Ear tinnitus is noise or ringing in the ear. It is not a disease in itself, but is the symptom of another such injury in the ear or age or circulatory disorder. Although it is annoying, but do not consider the warning sign of serious illness. Although it is getting worse with age, but is getting better with treatment.

Ambient noise may vary in intensity and may hear in one or both ears. In some cases, the sound can be so high that interferes with your ability to concentrate or hear the actual sound. Tinnitus may be continuous or may come and go.

What Causes Tinnitus?

1. Tinnitus associated with age :hearing problems are getting worse with age, usually starting at about age 60. Can be cause hearing loss and tinnitus. 
2. Exposure to high noise :Hear noises such as those resulting from heavy equipment, portable music devices such as MP3 or iPods Players can also cause tinnitus-related hearing loss 
3. Clogged with wax: Ear wax protects the ear canal from dirt and bacteria when it accumulates a lot of ear wax becomes difficult to wash naturally causing hearing loss or irritation in the ear drum, which can lead to tinnitus. 
4. The change in the bones of the ear:Spasm bones in the middle ear may affect hearing and cause tinnitus.

Other Reason:

 

1-Noise exposure, called cilia, in the inner ear. Once damaged, these hair cells cannot be renewed or replaced.

2-Head and neck trauma - Physical trauma to the head and neck can induce tinnitus. Other symptoms include headaches, vertigo, and memory loss.

3-Certain disorders, such as hypo- or hyperthyroidism, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, and thoracic outlet syndrome, can have tinnitus as a symptom. When tinnitus is a symptom of another disorder, treating the disorder can help alleviate the tinnitus.

4-Certain types of tumors

5-Wax build-up

6-Jaw misalignment

7-Cardiovascular disease

8-Ototoxicity , that is, the medications are toxic to the ear. Other medications will produce tinnitus as a side effect without damaging the inner ear. Effects, which can depend on the dosage of the medication, can be temporary or permanent.
