1-Relax and focus exercises can help the muscles and circulatory system and these exercises can reduce the severity of tinnitus in some patients.Try to do at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise four to five times a weeks for best results.


2-Take certain medications. Certain drugs have been found effective at reducing the symptoms of tinnitus, although the results vary from patient to patient, depending on the origins of the condition. Talk to your doctor to see if any medications are the right match for you.
3-Remove earwax. Built-up earwax can harden and block the ear canal - leading to hearing loss, irritation and tinnitus. If this is the cause of your tinnitus, the symptoms can be greatly relieved and even cured once the blockage has been removed.
4-Consider hearing aids. If your tinnitus is accompanied by hearing loss, getting fitted with a hearing aid can work wonders to minimize the annoying rushing or ringing sounds.


5-Use sound therapy. Sound therapy is a way of masking or drowning out the internal noise caused by the tinnitus using sound. Although it does not cure the tinnitus, sound therapy can help patients to forget about their symptoms and allow them to concentrate or rest without distraction.

Symptoms of tinnitus

Symptoms : 

Tinnitus is an annoying sense of the sound in the ear when there is no external sound. Symptoms include Buzz these types of phantom sounds in your ears:
     1-Ringing
     2-Buzzing
     3-Roaring
     4-Clicking
     5-Hissing
This noise may vary from a low roar to a high squeal, and you may hear it in one or both ears. In some cases, the sound can be so loud it can interfere with your ability to concentrate or hear actual sound. Tinnitus may be present all the time, or it may come and go. 


There are two types of tinnitus
1-Subjective tinnitus is tinnitus only you can hear. This is the most common type of tinnitus. It can be caused by ear problems in your outer, middle or inner ear. It also can be caused by problems with the hearing (auditory) nerves or the part of your brain that interprets nerve signals as sound (auditory pathways).
2- Objective tinnitus is tinnitus your doctor can hear when he or she does an examination. This rare type of tinnitus may be caused by a blood vessel problem, an inner ear bone condition or muscle contractions. 

Drugs that can cause tinnitus:

-Antibiotics: including polymyxin B, neomycin and erythromycin.
-Cancer drugs: including
Mechlorethamine and vincristine.
-Diuretics: such as bumetanide, ethacrynic acid or furosemide.
Some antidepressants.
-Aspirin taken in high doses (usually 12 or more tablets a day)

The many causes of tinnitus make it common and while you may have a tinnitus (ringing) on rare occasions, there are certainly people who have had the tinnitus effect constantly, and this is a health issue that has to be addressed. What is Tinnitus :





Tinnitus (from the Latin tinnitus or "ringing") is a condition characterized by ringing, swishing, or other noises that appear to be originating in the ear or head. Not normally a dangerous or serious problem Ear tinnitus is noise or ringing in the ear. It is not a disease in itself, but is the symptom of another such injury in the ear or age or circulatory disorder. Although it is annoying, but do not consider the warning sign of serious illness. Although it is getting worse with age, but is getting better with treatment.
Ambient noise may vary in intensity and may hear in one or both ears. In some cases, the sound can be so high that interferes with your ability to concentrate or hear the actual sound. Tinnitus may be continuous or may come and go.

What Causes Tinnitus?

  1. Tinnitus associated with age :hearing problems are getting worse with age, usually starting at about age 60. Can be cause hearing loss and tinnitus. 
  2. Exposure to high noise :Hear noises such as those resulting from heavy equipment, portable music devices such as MP3 or iPods Players can also cause tinnitus-related hearing loss 
  3. Clogged with wax: Ear wax protects the ear canal from dirt and bacteria when it accumulates a lot of ear wax becomes difficult to wash naturally causing hearing loss or irritation in the ear drum, which can lead to tinnitus. 
  4. The change in the bones of the ear:Spasm bones in the middle ear may affect hearing and cause tinnitus.

Other Reason:

 

1-Noise exposure, called cilia, in the inner ear. Once damaged, these hair cells cannot be renewed or replaced.
2-Head and neck trauma - Physical trauma to the head and neck can induce tinnitus. Other symptoms include headaches, vertigo, and memory loss.
3-Certain disorders, such as hypo- or hyperthyroidism, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, and thoracic outlet syndrome, can have tinnitus as a symptom. When tinnitus is a symptom of another disorder, treating the disorder can help alleviate the tinnitus.
4-Certain types of tumors
5-Wax build-up
6-Jaw misalignment
7-Cardiovascular disease
8-Ototoxicity , that is, the medications are toxic to the ear. Other medications will produce tinnitus as a side effect without damaging the inner ear. Effects, which can depend on the dosage of the medication, can be temporary or permanent.
